At the Theatre

The seats are slowly filling up
The lights are dimming
The dancers are taking their positions on stage
The music begins
The curtain goes up
The applause welcomes all to the evening
The dancers begin to entertain with their athleticism and grace
The theatre is buzzing with the chatter of praise at the intermission
The refreshments are flowing through the crowd
The people rush back in to take their seats for more
The performance is powerful, exciting, electric
The audience stands to applaud their appreciation for this experience
The director has shared her passion for telling a story through dance

Thank you, Rick and Melissa for inviting us all to the performance tonight.

  1. Dance performances always leave me in awe – no matter what level. I’m amazed at their ability to go up onstage, with so many eyes watching, and interpret the music with their body and soul.

  2. I can picture the theatre in my mind as your words take me there. Having been at the Marcus Performing Arts Center tonight for the symphony, I can definitely relate.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. I’m so curious to know how you captured this during the performance! On a napkin? Or did you save it to memory for later! (I don’t have that skill!! argh!)

    Thank you!

And a delightful time was had by all. The ease that dancers move about it totally amazing and you captured the essence of the whole evening. So happy you had an enjoyable time and shared it with us.

  5. I love how you distilled a snapshot of every aspect of your evening, from arriving in the theatre, to anticipating the start of the program and applauding the performers! Very lovely imagery!
