Reconnecting (one of this week’s goals)
Usually my brother will visit us in Chicago a couple times a year. This time it was our turn to visit him in Atlanta. We had a great day together, reconnecting in his world (instead of ours). He showed us the renovations and remodeling projects in both of his homes that have been completed since our last visit. We had a great lunch and dinner at two of his favorite restaurants. We walked around the very quaint town where he lives. We went to his office – closed for the day – for a tour of his work space. We visited with some of his friends. We played with his dogs, Scout and Jack.
Throughout the day we were able to get a sense for how he spends his days (without the distractions of our busy world). Yes, it was a very good day. Most importantly, today we were a part of his world . We gained an even deeper understanding and a greater appreciation of his beliefs and his values. He gave us a glimpse into his heart by sharing his world with us today.
We’ll see you back in our world in June.
